Video Production in Year 6

Image
The students in Mrs Lansbury's class learned how to create a multi-scene video that they edited using the trim, text and stringing features. Student's worked in pairs and learned aspects of shooting and editing video as a result. The next challenge will be to shoot and edit a movie of their school to send to their ePals interstate.

Reflecting on What We Like About Us

Image
The Year 3/4's in Mrs Allen's class continued developing their eBooks for their family titled 'The Best Part of Me'. They have been quite creative in their photo taking and used a mix of in depth and quick copyright free image searches (Google Advanced search and Pixabay search respectively). At the end of the lesson the class reflected on their progress and provide peer feedback via the Apple TV screen cast function.

Year 2 Movie Making

The Year 2's learned how to create a short video that explains the procedure of how to make toast. The students realised that they need a script to have a smooth explanation in the video. They also learned how to trim out dead time and add captions to their movies.

Air Drop and Apple TV

Image
The students in Mrs Kelsy's class have been getting into the routine of AirDropping their work to their teacher's iPad device so that the end of lesson plenary and reflection is a keenly awaited event. To AirDrop students just swipe up from the very bottom of the screen and select AirDrop/Everyone and then select Mrs Kelsy's iPad device name. Mrs Kelsy's iPad will then notify her that a student iPad device is wanting to AirDrop a file and she can accept (or reject) with a single tap.

Headings and the Rest

The creator of this poster reflected that the font chosen was a 'Heading' font... and the date needed checking... edited version coming soon... The Year 2's in Mrs Kelsy's class finalised their posters for the Athletics Carnival using design thinking strategies they learned about colour and font choices. They used a colour wheel to choose appropriately contrasting colours for their poster and make it grab the readers attention. They also learned about choosing different fonts for 'Heading' and 'Body' text.

The Best Part of Me. An eBook by Year 3/4

Mrs Allen's Year 3/4 class have started creating a book titled 'The Best Part of Me'. The students are planning the parts of their body, approx. 6, and matching text/writing style that are most relevant to this book title. They used touch typing skills to write their text according to their plan with Book Creator app. They will take photos with the Camera app next to match their text.

Using Apple TV for Feedback and Reflection

Image
The Year 2 students in Mrs Kelsey's class have been casting their creations and work (in this case a portfolio of their work on using learning technology for parent night) from their iPad onto the whiteboard using the Apple TV. The Apple TV installed in the classroom provides a great resource for both teachers and students to be able to elaborate on their work, receive feedback from their teacher or friends. It can also be a great tool for assessing the students' ticket to leave at the end of lesson.
