There Once was a Class Writing Limericks

Image
The Year 6's in Mrs Lansbury's class learned how to break down their Limericks into individual lines and then change their lines into syllable clusters that they understand using Explain Everything app. They then worked on their Reading Voice skills by evaluating if syllable clusters provide a better reading voice than plain text. Students recorded their explanations using voice recorder, laser pointers and shapes to also enhance their poetry voice.

Year 5 students editing their video of a Chapter re-tell of the Novel 'Hatchet'. Year 3 students sharing out their procedural videos with their peers for feedback. Both the Year 3's in Mrs Sattel's class and Year 5's in Mrs Stewart's class worked on creating video products. Firstly, they recorded their videos in the camera app and added text overlays in the app too. Then they put all their movies together in iMovie app and refined them by adding introductions/conclusions or audio recordings to match their movies. They were very accomplished directors.
